WMF Art Nouveau Fairy Card Tray*
Item Description
This is a fantastic item of Art Nouveau silver-plated metalwork in great condition. An important piece made by WMF, a similar example being shown on the cover of the WMF reference book.
Sold originally as a visiting card tray and priced in the UK at thirty-four shillings (I’ll take two dozen please).
Many surviving examples of this very pretty design have suffered over the years, with too much cleaning and handling having worn away much of the definition. This fine example shows lovely detail all over. Model no. 246 dating from c. 1900 with a height of 23 cm.
