Item Description
Framed watercolour portrait of a smiling young lady wearing an off-the-shoulder gown and a long lacy bonnet.
She is posing in front of a floral patterned pen and ink background with her head half turned towards the viewer, and looks completely at ease.
Charles Peltant is better known as a master Limoges enameller, and in his artistic career produced enamelled jewellery together with other enamelled decorative items.
Signed low down on the painting and dated 1921.
The oval image measures 23 cm high by 17.5 wide and the old faux burr frame is just over 34 cm high by a fraction below 17 cm wide.
