Victorian Gold Pendant with Wood Opal and Pearls*
Item Description
Splendid and large Victorian high carat gold pendant set with the most amazing wood opal we’ve ever come across.
Deep reddish-brown in colour, and showing vivid flashes of green and orange as it turns in the light, the upright oval opal has been carefully claw set to show it to best advantage and is framed within a circle of pearls which are very slightly graduated in size.
The tapering dedicated bale is also set with three graduated pearls and two more are suspended below, forming the drop.
This unique pendant hangs fom a 15 ct. gold rope patterned necklace chain which is fastened with a barrel type clasp.
Measuring a little under 8 cm long including the bale and the drop, with the chain having a length of approximately 41 cm.
