Silver and Enamel Dragonfly Pendant
Item Description
Art Nouveau silver and blue enamel pendant necklace in the form of a dragonfly with outspread wings briefly resting on a decorative silver ring.
Very similar to a design by Charles Horner, and at first sight we thought it was by that maker.
However, the maker’s mark on the back is that of John Aitkin & Son, then of Spencer Street in Birmingham, where this pendant was hallmarked for the year 1917.
Measuring 6 cms. long from the top of the bale to the tip of the tail.
The silver necklace chain is approximately 46 cms. in length.
