Silver and Enamel Locket*
Item Description
Oval hallmarked silver locket featuring an enamelled floral design with a spray of leaves, white lilies and blue forget-me-nots.
The enamelled centre is framed by a fine rope pattern border with a scalloped edge design to the outer edge of the locket on both front and back.
Opening to reveal two full size glass covered apertures for photographs, perhaps a lock of hair or other small keepsakes.
Hallmarked at Birmingham for the year 1880 and also showing the impressed maker’s mark TW who, unfortunately, we are unable to positively identify since there are a few similar marks for various Birmingham makers.
The original large bale is still attached and this also is marked on the back for silver.
Measuring approximately 6.5 cm long including the bale, with the heavy guage silver necklace chain having a length of 47 cm.
