Art Nouveau Silver Buttons
Item Description
Set of six matching English Art Nouveau silver buttons made by the Birmingham silversmiths Levi & Salaman, hallmarked fo the year 1904.
With a shaped outline and depicting a head and shoulders portrait in profile of a fairy enjoying the scent of a flower, these are the epitome of Art Nouveau.
Impressed on the back of each button with the maker’s mark L&S together with a Birmingham hallmark, and approximately 1.5 cms. in diameter.
All six fasteners are also present.
Offered in the old fited box in which we acquired them which, despte having suffered some damage to the hinge, still opens and closes positively.
