Scandinavian Silver-Gilt, Enamel & Moonstone Necklace*
Item Description
Ornate silver gilt necklace with a floral and foliate theme, set with a moonstone suspended in the centre.
Openwork in style, comprising a geometric outer frame, enamelled in dark blue with little white dots, which sits behind sprays of pointed green leaves and a pair of open flowers with red petals and golden yellow centres.
The same theme is continued on the two side attachments a short way along the chain and all three of the main decorative elements are counter enamelled on the back.
Additional detail is in the form of little spacers inserted midway along the short lengths of chain and at the drop suspended below the main pendant.
All the chainwork is doubled and matches throughout.
Unmarked but known to be Scandinavian in origin and approximately 13 cm in length from the top of the side attachments to the bottom of the drop. The remainder of the necklace chain is 36 cm long.
