Pastel of Flame-Haired Young Girl*
Item Description
Mounted, framed and glazed pastel picture of a semi-nude young woman.
She’s seated sideways on to the viewer with her eyes lowered and her head turned towards us over her left shoulder.
The light is playing on her hair which, with its combination of golden yellow and red brown, has a somewhat wild and flame like appearance.
A well executed work signed lower left by the artist André L. Martin and dated 1942.
There is a slight crease which can be seen in our photos, running almost horizontally from the left edge across a small part of the pale background.
The framed picture measures 60 X 45 cm overall with the image at 46 X 30.5 cm.
