Pair of Orivit Decanters*
Item Description
Matching pair of silver plated and etched glass decanters from the German company Orivit AG dating from around 1900.
Each one standing on four raised and slightly flared feet for extra stability. The metal element shows an openwork intricate floral and foliate design, with the stem of the flower forming the elegantly shaped handle. The glass is also decorated, being etched with an attractive linear and crosswork pattern.
Each decanter holds approximately 50 cl and has a height to the top of the handles of 32 cm.
Marked beneath with the Orivit mark and numbered.
The Orivit company operated from 1894 to 1905 when, after falling into financial difficulties, they were bought out by their larger competitor WMF.
