Marius Hammer Silver-Gilt and Enamel Necklace*
Item Description
Skønvirke festoon necklace in silver-gilt from the workshops of the Norwegian silversmith and jeweller Marius Hammer.
Dating from somewhere between 1900 and 1910, the necklace shows a detail of fine filigree work and is highlighted with little cabochons enamelled in an iridescent shade of pale pink, the actual colour of which is just a little more prominent than our photos show.
Showing the Marius Hammer maker’s mark on the reverse, together with the 930S silver mark, and on the original chain with its distinctive push, twist and pull clasp.
The necklace has a length of approximately 42 cms.
