Limoges Art Nouveau Pendant by Burget*
Item Description
Art Nouveau Limoges enamel on copper pendant set in an 18 ct gold frame.
A young woman in Renaissance style, wearing blue and green robes and a pink headdress is shown in profile against a deep almost blackcurrant coloured background.
Crafted with a shield-shaped outline, embellished with with scrollwork detail at each side and finished with an openwork gold drop suspended below.
Impressed with the eagle’s head 18 ct gold mark and signed on the reverse of the enamel plaque, S. Burget, Limoges.
The pendant is good size at a fraction over 6 cm long, including the drop, and the gold chain, which has a mark that we are unable to distinguish, has a length of approximately 40 cm.
