Late Victorian Gold and Opal Necklace*
Item Description
Longuard chain in 15 ct. gold that’s been connected to form three almost equal lengths and thus making a more usual short necklace length of around 39 cms.
The ornate chain is interspersed at intervals with a total of eight well coloured oval opal beads which are set in such a way that they can be seen from either side.
Unmarked but testing as 15 ct. and dating from circa 1900 or perhaps a little before.
N.B. The total length of the chain is approximately 114 cms. A competent jeweller could quite easily convert this back to one long chain if desired.
