Large Arts & Crafts Pendant Necklace*
Item Description
Impressively sized English Arts & Crafts pendant necklace fashioned from silver wirework into a softly rounded cross shaped design which is overlaid with silver leaves, flowers and stems.
Faceted amethysts and peridots are set in the centres of the flowers, adding colours that are associated with the Suffragette movement.
The pendant hangs from a central suspender formed as a single flower, together with two short lengths of chain, one on each side, and is completed with a teardrop-shaped peridot drop.
An 86 cm long necklace chain extends from the suspender to the ornate hand-made clasp which is also set with a peridot, the long length enabling the necklace to be worn with the clasp at the throat as shown in our third photo.
Early 1900’s but with no maker’s mark as is so often the case.
Length of the pendant, from the top of the suspender to the bottom of the drop, is approximately 10.5 cm.
