Jugendstil Silver and Plique-à-Jour Pendant
Item Description
Stylish German Jugendstil pendant with a crescent shaped outline crafted in silver gilt.
The upper part of the crescent is randomly divided into separate cells each of which is plique-à-jour enamelled in a pleasing shade of green.
Below this is a curving line of clear paste stones, and three natural wing pearls are suspended on short lengths of gold chain.
No marks but almost certainly from one of the Pforzheim based jewellers and dating from circa 1900.
Approximately 4.5 cms. long including the bale down to the tip of the longest drop, with the silver necklace chain measuring 46 cms.
