John Pearson Box
Item Description
Long rectangular copper covered wooden box with a hinged lid by John Pearson dated 1900.
With a stylised spray of leaves on the lid and flowers on the front face, the sides and back are left plain, just showing the rivets.
A latch is attached to the lid and the box can be padlocked if required with this down in place.
The interior wood has an old light green wash and there is no sign of worm damage.
Measuring approximately 31 cm long by 13 deep and around 9.5 cm high. Initialled JP and dated on the back.
There is one small ‘dig’ in the copper just to the left of the latch as viewed from the front but otherwise the box is in good condition throughout. We have not attempted to clean or polish it, preferring to leave the aged and much handled patina as it is.
