Hand Painted Wooden Casket
Item Description
Well made and delightfully decorated Arts & Crafts wooden casket raised on four ball feet.
Fashioned from solid Sycamore, with inset panels hand painted in floral and foliate designs showing on all four sides. The hinged lid is also decorated with an ornate floral display.
Both the underside of the lid and the interior have an emerald green painted finish.
On the bottom of the box a small plaque is affixed showing the retailer’s name and address – Beatrice Cameron, 102 Mount St. Grosvenor Sq. W.
In good condition, commensurate with its age, and showing a little paint loss here and there. The lid is secure and closes flush to the rim.
The exterior measurements are 30.5 X 11.5 cm with the lid just a little larger all round. Height is a touch under 16 cm. Dating from the very early 1900’s.
