Goldscheider Blonde Dream*
Item Description
Goldscheider ceramic figurine designed by Stefan Dakon in 1932 titled “Blonde Dream”. The subject is the well known actress of the time, Lilian Harvey, who was born in London in 1906 to an English mother and a German father. She was a very popular artiste in Germany and starred in many silent movies.
Here she is seen wearing a wide-brimmed hat and long gloves, looking over her left shoulder and lifting the front of her full length dress as she steps forward. This is a striking and typically Art Deco piece that captures the atmosphere of the times so well.
In good condition with some typical crazing to parts of the glaze. Model no. 6606/587/19, with Dakon signature beneath and around 32 cm in height.
Lit: Dechant/Goldscheider p. 435 – also Pinhas p. 125
