Glass and Silver Daum Bowl*
Item Description
Very pretty and rare bowl from Daum Frères, Nancy from circa 1896-99. Colourless glass with lightly etched pale green casing and a further etched decoration of flowers, stems and leaves. Detailed areas are also partially enamelled in gold.
The bowl is further embellished with solid silver rim and foot mountings, the rim showing a pattern of leaves and berries.
Marked on the underside with Daum Nancy and the Cross of Lorraine. The silver rim mount is marked ‘AL’ plus three stars for Antoinette Lagriffont of Paris and also with the French Minerva’s head.
The diameter is around 22.5 cm and the height 11 cm.
