Art Nouveau Locket attr. to Meyle & Mayer
Item Description
Jugendstil silver and plique-à-jour enamelled locket pendant with a shaped outline featuring a purple and yellow iris flower with winding stems and leaves.
This sits above silver lattice work that is plique-à-jour enamelled in each cell in shades of blue and mauve.
The pendant slides open to reveal a locket compartment that may possibly originally have housed a mirror.
There is just a small amount of crazing to one or two of the cells but the overall condition is very good.
Circa very early 1900’s and unmarked but very much in the style of Meyle & Mayer of Pforzheim to whom it is attributed.
Just about 6 cms. long including the fixed ring at the top, with the necklace chain measuring 45 cms. in length.
