German Art Nouveau Porcelain Vase*
Item Description
Rare and quite beautiful Art Nouveau painted and glazed porcelain vase from the German company Gebrüder Heubach dating from the late 1800’s.
The vase is of a deep, almost cornflower blue colour with leaves and flowers of iris decorating the sides, two of the flowers extending above the rim fashioned in three dimensional openwork detail, the petals showing the most subtle shades of pale pink, blue and white.
Water lily leaves surround the base of the vase, just above the circular foot.
The interior is glazed in white.
A fraction over 19 cm high and in excellent condition with just a small dark speck showing on one of the flower petals which dates from the time of manufacture. This can be seen in the second and third photographs.
The maker’s mark of Gebrüder Heubach is on the underside.
