Art Nouveau Flying Swan Brooch*
Item Description
Brooch in 18 ct. gold in the form of a flying swan holding in its bill a twig with a large natural pearl surmounted by a calyx set with little diamonds.
The bird is quite beautifully matt enamelled in very pastel shades of green, yellow and gold with the leading edges of its wings being set with a line of graduated diamonds.
No maker’s mark apparent but marked 750 for 18 ct. on the top of the twig.
The brooch has a curved pin and a safety catch and measures just a fraction below 4.5 cm wide from wingtip to wingtip.
Supplied in the tooled leather box marked Asprey, 166 Bond St., London in which it was acquired
