Gold, Enamel and Diamond Eagle
Item Description
A very fine brooch crafted in 18 ct. gold in the form of a flying eagle clutching a large pearl.
The wings of the bird are matt enamelled in shades of gold, brown and blue-green, with the leading edges set with little diamonds and another, even tinier forming the eye.
With its head turned to one side and its tail fanned out behind the pearl, this is a lovely example of the jewellery maker’s craftsmanship and expertise.
Circa 1930’s and possibly American although it could be French – unfortunately we are not absolutely sure of the country of origin – and with a wingspan of just over 5.5 cms.
