Charles Horner Art Nouveau Pendant
Item Description
Art Nouveau silver pendant by Charles Horner, enamelled in strong shades of blue, green and blackcurrant.
The enamelled section with its boat shaped outline sits immediately below a silver butterfly wing shaped openwork design, and a typical Horner enamelled drop is suspended below.
The pendant hangs on two short lengths of chain from a circular suspender which is enamelled in a matching shade of blue, with the silver bale above connecting to the necklace chain.
Showing a Chester hallmark on the back but the date letter is somewhat indistinct. However we are confident that it dates from between 1908 and 1912. Also impressed with the C.H maker’s mark.
The length, including the bale and the drop, is 8 cms. with the necklace chain measuring 47 cms.
