Bronze Nude Tambourine Dancer*
Item Description
Splendid patinated bronze nude dancer by the Austrian sculptor Karl Tuch (born 1882).
She is standing with real attitude on one leg with the other raised just a little from the floor in front of her. Holding a tambourine and looking slightly to one side, she is confidently thrusting her splendid body towards us. With an undoubted look of the between the wars demi-monde, the young lady looks totally in control of her situation.
Finished with a dark brown patination and signed Prf. Tuch on the socle. Further mounted on a graduated circular portoro marble base.
This very eye-catching sculpture dates from around the late 1920’s and is an impressive size with an overall height of 70 cm. The diameter of the marble base is 24 cm.
