Brass Tray with Hand-Painted Minton Tile
Item Description
Extremely pretty, and rather heavy, small twin-handled square tray with an ornate brass frame housing a beautifully painted tile attributed to Minton.
The primrose yellow flowers stand out strongly against the green of the leaves and the assorted mottled shades of brown – nature’s colours – in the background.
Probably originally a teapot stand as it would certainly be a waste to put a potted plant on it, but a delightful object in its own right and worthy of display just as it is.
Holes in the corners of the back indicate that there may have been small feet attached originally but it sits perfectly without them.
The frame is 27cm square and the exposed tile face approximately 20 cm square. Width from handle to handle is 34 cm.
