Boxed Set with Pendant, 2 Hat Pins & 6 Buttons
Item Description
Set of nine silver and blue enamel items comprising a pendant and chain, two matching hat pins and six matching little buttons or studs, all in the original fitted, velvet lined box.
Made by the Birmingham silversmiths J. Aitkin & Sons, each piece showing the maker’s mark together with a hallmark for the year 1912.
The pendant, with is somewhat shield-shaped outline, shows a design of leafy sprays and, as with the other pieces, is guilloche enamelled in a shade of mid blue edged with a beaded pattern in white.
Measuring a little over 6 cm including the bale and drop. The necklace chain has a toggle type fastener and is a little over 43 cm. in length.
The hat pins have a diameter of 2 cm and the buttons a fraction over 1 cm.
