Necklace, Brooch & Earrings attr. to Bernard Instone*
Item Description
Striking demi parure dating from circa 1925, comprising a necklace, a brooch and a pair of earrings.
Crafted in silver and detailed with yellow enamel, with gold highlights forming the centres of little flowers, each item is also set with a faceted citrine, the necklace in fact with two.
The floral and foliate theme matches throughout and continues over the full length of the necklace chain.
Unsigned but the set is firmly attributed to Bernard Instone. Photos of this design can be seen on page 144 of Tracy Henriksen’s book Bernard Instone Designer & Craftsman: the art of a jeweller.
The necklace is approximately 40 cm in length with its pendant measuring just a little below 4.5 cm including the citrine suspender above.
The brooch measures 3 X 2.5 cm and the earrings have a drop of approximately 5.5 cm.
