Arts & Crafts Necklace from The Engelbach Enamels*
Item Description
Very fine Arts & Crafts necklace in silver and gold featuring a stylised bell-like flower enamelled in pearly shades of dusky pink, blue-grey and white.
A splendid baroque pearl forms the main central drop below, flanked by a smaller pearl drop a little above at each side.
Four convex circular spacers, enamelled in similar colours, are placed at intervals along the doubled gold chain, each suspending a wing type baroque pearl.
Counter enamelled on the back for stability and with a length of approximately 40 cm.
No marks but understood to be made or perhaps commissioned by The Engelbach Enamels of Meadowside, Surbiton, about whom we can find no information. The somewhat worn leather covered box displays their name inside the lid.
This elegant necklace with its distinctive and individual look, dates from the early 1900’s.
