Murrle Bennett Silver and Enamel Pendant
Item Description
Art Nouveau silver and enamel pendant designed by Archibald Knox and made by Murrle Bennett, almost certainly for Liberty’s.
With an uporight and shaped outline, widening gently as it descends, and featuring Knox’s instantly recognisable twists and turns to the openwork areas of the silver.
Set in the centre is a vivid enamelled oval in assorted shades of blue with just a touch of green.
The pendant is slightly convex, this contouring helping to accentuate the look of light and shade that falls on it when wearing.
Just the merest fraction below 5.5 cms. including the bale, with the necklace chain measuring 46 cms.
