Art Nouveau Gold and Diamond Flower Brooch*
Item Description
Art Nouveau enamelled 18 ct. gold brooch set with diamonds and pearls.
An openwork design, fashioned as a pair of stylised pansy flowers, the upper petals enamelled in purple with the three facing petals in pastel shades highlighted with touches of gold and violet.
In the centre of each flower is a claw-set old cut diamond and immediately above the central pair of green enamelled leaves sits a small pearl.
At the foot, below the curving gold stems, another pearl is suspended forming the drop.
We can find no marks but we believe it to be French in origin, circa late 1800’s, and can confirm that the gold has been tested and found to be 18 ct.
The width is 4 cm.
