Charles Horner Shield-Shaped Pendant
Item Description
Exceptionally clean silver and enamel pendant necklace by Charles Horner, hallmarked at Chester for the year 1910.
Somewhat shield-shaped in outline, with three gently rounded beaded edges framing fine silver detail spreading outwards from the central blue-green enamelled plaque.
Three small whorls, one towards each corner, also show enamel detail and the suspender above two short lengths of chain continues the theme.
The pendant is completed with a typical Horner drop at the foot, enamelled in matching shades.
Measuring a fraction below 6 cms. in length, including the suspender and the drop, with the remainder of the necklace chain having a length of approximately 40 cms.
