Silver and Enamel Pendant for Liberty*
Item Description
English Arts & Crafts silver pendant with a wirework outer frame enclosing an enamelled pastoral scene with a winding river flanked by a silhouetted windmill on one side and tall trees on the other.
Quite beautiful enamelling and with a well contoured surface.
Pairs of little heart shaped silver leaves add a pleasing detail both above and below the enamelled panel and with the original bale still present.
Simply marked ‘silver’ on the back but this is a design that is known to have been sold by Liberty’s in the early 1900’s.
Including the bale, the length is 4.5 cms. The necklace chain, which has a very recognisable Liberty fastener, measures just a touch over 40 cms.
