A.E. Jones Copper and Enamel Box*
Item Description
A fine Arts & Crafts copper box dating from circa 1905, unmarked but very firmly attributed to A.E. Jones.
Of riveted construction and with an Anne Stubbs strap design on the lid embellished with a blue-green enamel roundel.
In typical Jones style, the lid overhangs the box all round and is secured with two riveted hinges at the rear.
The interior is lined in cedar and is fitted with a removable divider.
This box is similar to one shown at the Liberty Arts & Crafts Exhibition in 2008.
In good cleaned condition, commensurate with its age and measuring approximately 20 cm wide by a little over 14 cm deep and with a height of just over 5 cm.
